Chatham-Kent police took no chances last night as they called in an OPP bomb squad from London at the Nortown Plaza about a bomb threat.

At about 8:15 p.m. the threat was called in to police, resulting in the evacuation of a city block from McNaughton Ave. to Wiltshire Drive on St. Clair Street after midnight. Workers at Shoppers Drug Mart told the CKReview that they thought the threat existed for the postal boxes inside the store, however a red postal box that sits outside Shoppers Drug Mart was the focus of the concern by police.

An OPP explosive disposal unit cleared the scene at 1:10 a.m. No-one was injured. No bomb was found.
