Numerous accidents shut down roads in Middlesex County

OPP cruiserCurrently members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are responding to dozens of motor vehicle collisions and countless vehicles in the ditch on Middlesex County roadways. Emergency crews are  heading to the scene of a jack-knifed tractor-trailer on the westbound lanes of highway 402 at Hickory Drive.

For public safety reasons police have closed Richmond Street from Arva to Exeter and will be expecting many other roads to be closed. Most areas are reporting zero visibility. Police are appealing to the public to stay off all roadways.

At this time no serious injuries have been reported but are still warning the public that they need to slow down and drive according to the ever-changing road and weather. Today it is cold and blowing so this means the roads are slippery and snow-covered. That means slow down and arrive safely at your destination.
