The Chatham-Kent police are reporting the arrest of a man, dressed in dark clothes and carrying a flashlight, who they say was found inside a home he had broken into at 6 a.m.
The home, in the area of Lacroix Street near Tweedsmuir Avenue is vacant. Police spotted a broken window and a door that had been forced open. The 22-year-old suspect was found inside the Lacroix Street residence and was arrested.
The Chatham man sits in jail this morning waiting for a bail hearing and was charged with break and enter and possession of break-in instruments.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service are thanking an alert citizen who observed the suspicious man and called police.
