The Chatham-Kent police have made an arrest in the robbery of the Subway restaurant on Queen Street last Saturday night.

As previously reported, on Saturday, February 8, around 9:30 p.m. a lone male attended the Subway at 380 Queen Street. As the customer ahead of him paid for her items, the man reached over the counter and grabbed over $400 in cash as the employee opened the cash register to complete the transaction. The employee attempted to stop the man however he pushed her away. The employee was not injured.

Through investigation, police identified the man responsible. Last night around 8:30 p.m. police located Timothy Markword on Pine Street in Chatham and he was arrested. The 47-year-old Chatham man has been charged with robbery. He remains in custody today after his bail hearing was put over until Tuesday.
