A Shrewsbury woman sits in jail waiting for a bail hearing this morning after being arrested for multiple offences yesterday.
In September 2013, the woman was released from custody with several conditions, including that she refrain from communicating with a Blenheim man or going to his home.
Around 12:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, the man contacted police to report that she had been at his residence twice and engaged him in a short conversation. As police arrived on the scene they saw the woman in her vehicle. The woman was stopped at Stanley Street and Marlborough Street, however as the officer approached the vehicle, she yelled obscenities and drove away at a high-speed. Police remained in visual contact with the vehicle from a safe distance and watches as the woman blew past at least four intersections with stop signs. Police found the woman at her home where she resisted arrest by throwing a chair towards police. She was arrested and taken into custody.
The 49-year-old Shrewsbury woman has been charged with three counts of failing to comply, flight from police, dangerous driving and resisting arrest.
