** UPDATE - Service has been restored between 4 and 6 a.m. this morning.

** UPDATE – As of 8:45 pm all Chatham-Kent snow ploughs have been pulled off the rural roads in the entire municipality (north and south) because of visibility and safety issues until further notice**

The municipality of Chatham-Kent public works department has decided to pull snow ploughs/equipment off the rural roads in the southerly part of the municipality because of visibility and safety issues at 7 p.m. today. The area affected is roughly south of the Thames River across the entire municipality. Operations in the northerly part of the municipality will continue for now. Winter control operations in the affected area will resume once weather conditions improve enough to allow for better visibility and safe operation of equipment.

“Our operators are reporting near white out conditions which is leading to safety concerns for our staff and the public” said director of public works Wayne Pollock of infrastructure and engineering services ” As soon as visibility improves enough for safe operation of equipment winter control operations will resume”

this is just ck showing its fucking bull shit love for Chatham. I am so sick of Chatham doing shit like this. they say it was because of poor visibility. but we all know its because Chatham is the cheapest community in the ck area. they want all for themselves and nothing for the surronding communities.
