Two women in police custody after drunk driving incident

Police have arrested two women after an impaired driver lost control and landed in a ditch in Dover Township last night.

The woman lost control of her vehicle and became stuck on Bear Line Road at about 8:30 p.m.

Neither the woman nor her passenger was injured.

Police at the scene believed the woman driver was drunk and arrested her. She was taken to police headquarters for further breath tests.

The 50-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with being over the legal limit and is in police custody this morning.

The female passenger was also arrested for being drunk in a public place. The 43-year-old Chatham woman was unable to care for herself according to police. She too is in police custody.
