Robbery attempt comes up empty: police

A suspect attempted to the rob the Taj Variety at 187 King Street East in Chatham last night.

A man about 25-30 entered the store at about 7 p.m., demanding money and claiming to be armed. He fled empty-handed.

There were no injuries. The investigation on going. Suspect described as male, 25-30 years, approx. 5’9”, medium build, red hoodie, black toque, and black jacket.
