Roads better but caution still advised

Ice-and-snowThe municipality of Chatham-Kent Public Works Department advises that as of 7 a.m. road conditions have improved, however there are some drifting and visibility concerns.

Weather forecasts continue to indicate that snow flurries and strong winds with gusts up to 55 km/h will continue throughout Sunday. Flurries will end overnight however strong winds will continue into Monday.

Snow plows will be continuing winter control operations throughout the day on both rural and urban roads. Operators are reporting that conditions have improved on many rural roads however there are areas that remain hazardous.

Motorists are urged to use caution when travelling until road conditions improve.
