Have you recovered from the holiday rush? Good! Because it’s time for the winter heroes and villains ARTcrawl! We will begin our journey in ARTspace, 165 ½ King Street West, Chatham at 6 p.m. for the closing reception of the ARTspace Member Show. At 7 p.m. there are three destinations! Eve Chocolatier for some sweet delights and spicy new drinks, the Derby Banquet Centre of the Retro Suites for retro donut holes and hot chocolate and the William Street Café, 28 William Street South, for an out of this world comic book art exhibition and their back ally café that will delight heroes and villains.
Feel like staying the night? Retro Suites is offering a Culture Vulture discount on rooms that evening, be a hero and snag a room for $109 +HST if you feel like having some spirits ARTcrawl night.
At 8 p.m. we will run to the Thames Art Gallery, 75 William Street North, for the opening receptions of Orford: Insular Territory by Quebec-based artist Geneviève Chevalier on the ground floor, Sumptuous Obsessions by CK artist Vanessa Cornell in the mezzanine gallery, and a multimedia exhibition of works from students at UCC, UCCollective, in the community & project room.
From 9 p.m. until all of our heroes and villains are tuckered out we will dance to live music, by the “Sterling Blues Band”, and enjoy a cash bar and free snacks in Studio 1 of the Cultural Centre.
There will be a special presentation by Bravo Sud offering an opportunity to french speaking artists. A special thank you to the Game Master’s Emporium for providing the prizes (worth up to $100) to be awarded to the best good guy and best bad guy costumes!
Bring out the whole family, pull out those old spandex pants and affix those capes for an free evening of art, live music and food.
