Man tried to shove a computer tablet down his pants: police

A local man, with no fixed address, went into a store on St. Clair and attempted to steal a computer tablet by shoving it down his pants, according to the Chatham-Kent police.

The man was seen at a number of businesses before he put his plan into action.

Police were called to the scene where they arrested the man outside the store and he has been charged with theft and possession of stolen goods under $5000.

Police searched the man and he was found to have other items from other stores. Police did not put a value on the items or indicate if they too were put down his pants.
