Man robs gas station in Chatham

s police 2A 47-year-old Chatham man was arrested this morning after robbing a gas station on Park Avenue West.

At about 12:45 a.m. the man went to the gas station and asked for change for a quarter. He left and then returned ten minutes later, looking for his quarter back in exchange for the two dimes and a nickel he had in his possession. The employee opened a the till when the man reached over the counter and stole an undisclosed amount of money. The employee tried to intervene but the man pushed him aside.

The employee was not injured during the incident.

The robber fled on foot, but was arrested at around 1:45 a.m. He faces a charge of robbery.
