Man concealed two knives in his gloves inside a store

s police 3A suspicious person report led to the arrest of a Chatham man yesterday afternoon.

The Chatham-Kent police say an employee of a store on Park Avenue saw the man carry knives in each of his gloves. Police found him and arrested the man. When searching the suspect they found two filleting knives and a hammer. He was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon. When the man was released he was given conditions and in an effort to comply with those conditions he turned over to the police a loaded shotgun, resulting in another charge of unsafe storage of a firearm.

Richard Delaet, 59-years-old, of Park Avenue West in Chatham has been released with a court date.
