Man airlifted off the ice of Lake St. Clair

OPPA 67-year-old Michigan man was airlifted from the scene of his accident today on the ice of Lake St. Clair, near St. Luke. He was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The accident happened just before 9:30 a.m. The Chatham-Kent OPP, Chatham-Kent EMS, Dover Township volunteer firefighters and the US Coast Guard attended the scene.

The collision occurred when the lone driver of the ATV, a 67-year-old man from New Baltimore, MI, was thrown from the ATV while it was in motion. He has non-life threatening injuries.

The OPP said that they do not expect to lay any charges.
