Driver hits train

Yesterday afternoon, emergency crews responded to a collision on McNaughton Line in Chatham Township.

A 45-year-old man was travelling south on Caledonia Road when he tried to stop for the railway crossing.  He was unable to and his truck collided with a passing train. He was not injured. Total damage was estimated at $25,000.

The driver was charged with disobeying a railway crossing signal.
