Citizens rescue woman from bridge on Lacroix Street

A drama unfolded in Chatham yesterday and ended with a woman’s life being saved, according to the Chatham-Kent police.

At about 12:30 two men were driving over the Lacroix Street bridge in Chatham when they saw a woman standing on the wrong side of the bridge. The two men stopped and one of them asked the woman if he could help. Soon after he grabbed the woman by the waist, pulling her to safety.

The 41-year-old Chatham woman was taken to the general hospital.
