Accident on 401 closes eastbound lanes (with photos) Updated: 401 reopened

A three vehicle accident has closed the 401 eastbound lanes at Communication Road this morning. No report on injuries or damages at this time. The story will be updated when no information is provided.

The OPP report a cruiser has extensive damage and have said there is no timeline yet for when the 401 will re-open. Emergency crews report black ice covers that stretch of road.

Update: Communication Road has been reopened.
