Last night at about 9 p.m. and this morning at about 1 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted R.I.D.E. programs in the communities of Chatham and Wallaceburg.
In Chatham, 100 vehicles were checked, resulting in a three-day suspension and five provincial offences being issued. In Wallaceburg, 77 vehicles were checked.
CKPS is urging drivers to consider using the Home James program. It is a free, confidential, volunteer-driven service offered to anyone who has been drinking or who simply does not feel fit to drive their vehicle home. Call 519-351-3353 and a team of three volunteers will come and drive you home safely in your own car.
