A family dispute on Park Avenue East led police to a suspected car thief on the run from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS). When officers arrived at the scene a man was walking away from his mother’s home. Police stopped the man and spoke with him and learned he was wanted by the NRPS for auto theft.

The Chatham-Kent police was able to recover the stolen car and claim it had been sold for $250.

A 21-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with uttering a forged document and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He was released with a future court date and turned over to NRPS.
