Police have arrested a woman wanted on an outstanding warrant.
On September 6, the woman entered No Frills on Queen Street in Chatham and placed approximately $62 worth of grocery items in a bag. She left the store making no attempts to pay for the groceries. The woman was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and was released with a court date.
On September 27, the same woman attended 7-11 on Grand Avenue West in Chatham where she concealed a phone accessory valued at $13 in her purse and left the store making no attempt to pay for the item. The woman continued to Sears on King Street West in Chatham and placed a pair of shoes in a bag. The woman left the store making no attempts to pay for the merchandise valued at $18. The woman was arrested outside and the stolen merchandise was recovered. The woman was charged with two counts of theft under $5000 and two counts of possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. She was released with condition with a court date.
On November 1, she failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Yesterday afternoon, police located the woman in Chatham and she was arrested on the outstanding warrant.
Nicole Ost, 41 years, of Adelaide Street North in Chatham was released, again, with a future court date.
