The St. Clair College Capitol Theatre has announced that the performance featuring Jim Belushi and the Chicago Board of Comedy will be rescheduled from January 23, 2014.

Belushi wrote a letter, explaining the decision, “I am terribly disappointed to not come to Canada the last week of January to do a tour that we have been working on and looking forward to all year. A glorious opportunity has presented itself in a beautiful movie script that shoots in Miami Beach this January and February.”

Sounds disappointing to us too. Starring in a movie in the Florida sun in January, or Chatham, hmm.

“It’s a lead role and a great ensemble of actors, writers, and a terrific director. It’s a must-do, a left field opportunity that if I don’t seize, I feel I will regret for the rest of my life. We want to be in Canada, we want to play in Canada. Canadians have the best sense of humor and would love our spontaneous improvisational comedy show”, Belushi said.

Lesley Grand, manager of the Capitol Theatre said, “Management are working hard to secure a date in the spring and you will be notified as soon as it is confirmed. We hope to be able to make this announcement in the next day or two.”

Ticket holders should keep their tickets as they will be transferred automatically to the new date.
