Car seized after traffic stop

Police arrested a man following a traffic stop in Chatham yesterday morning.

At around 9:20 a.m. police saw a man known to them as an unlicensed driver travelling eastbound on McNaughton Avenue near Delaware Avenue in Chatham. The officer stopped the vehicle and confirmed that the man was prohibited from driving.

Thomas Evans, 35 years, of McNaughton Avenue East in Chatham has been charged with three counts of driving while disqualified and five counts of driving while under suspension. His vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 45 days. He was released with a court date.
