Video workshop at the Capitol Theatre on December 3

Capitol theatreThe ninth annual Film 101 Student Video Workshops will take place on Tuesday, December 3rd from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the St. Clair College Capitol Theatre.

Approximately 125 students from four area high schools will learn video production skills, including the proper use of audio equipment, shooting video with a digital SLR camera, visual storytelling and production workflow. The workshops will be presented by local professional videographers and film makers Jason Korkidakis, Florin Marksteiner, Cary Templeman and Chris Williams who are all donating their time to help educate the next generation of Chatham-Kent film and television producers. In addition, the students will view a selection of new animations and short films from the National Film Board of Canada.

Peter Martin, Manager of Programming and Community Relations for TVCOGECO Chatham remarked that “This is a great opportunity for local youth who are considering careers in the media to learn from industry professionals and make contacts that could lead them to future employment right here in Chatham-Kent.”

Film 101 is sponsored by COGECO and TVCOGECO Chatham and produced in partnership with the St. Clair College Capitol Theatre and the NFB. Organizing committee members are Peter Martin, Lesley Grand, Paul Bourdeau and Andrea Dickinson.
