Bloomfield Road RIDE nets impaired driver

On the 1st of October, at 11:38 p.m. the Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on the 401 westbound off ramp at Bloomfield Road.

The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck was stopped at the program and police determined that he had been drinking alcohol. A roadside alcohol test was administered which the driver failed. Further alcohol test at the Chatham-Kent OPP detachment revealed that he was over the legal limit.

Marc Sylvestre, a 47-year-old Tecumseh man, has been charged with impaired driving.
