Music Series, a new package at the Capitol Theatre, is a collection of classical performances that was announced today.
The Music Series package includes performances by the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Boys Choir, Measha Brueggergosman, and Quartetto Gelato.
The Windsor Symphony Orchestra presents a chamber performance of light and lively serenades by Wolfgang Amadeau Mozart (Serenade no. 10 “Gran Parita”) and Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (Serenade for Strings in C major) led by their dynamic new music director, Robert Franz. The Windsor Symphony Orchestra comes to the Capitol November 2. There will also be a special pre-show event in the lobby of the theatre.
The Vienna Boys Choir presents a musical evening of Christmas spirit, performing everything from Gregorian chant and traditional Christmas carols to popular holiday favorites and songs from around the world. These Austrian youngsters have charmed audiences worldwide with their rapturous harmonies, purity of tone, pleasing repertoire, and charming demeanor. The Vienna Boys Choir will be performing November 23.
Juno-award winning Measha Brueggergosman has been noted by the San Francisco Chronicle as “a singer of rare gifts and artistic intensity” and by the Miami Herald for possessing “a superb voice capable of just about everything.” The Canadian soprano is critically acclaimed by the international press as much for her innate musicianship and voluptuous voice as for a sovereign stage presence. Over three billion people heard the soprano’s epic performance of the Olympic Hymn at the Opening Ceremonies of the Vancouver Olympic Games. Brueggergosman takes the stage February 18.
