Citizen helps police catch drunk driver

A tip from a concerned citizens helped police nab a drunk driver on Friday night.

Around 11 p.m. July 19, police responded to a call about an impaired driver in a parking lot of a restauran on Grand Avenue West.

Chatham-Kent Police ServiceĀ  responded, and found a woman at that location.

After a breathilyzer test was done, police arrested a 43-year-old female for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

The breathilyzer tests were showed that the woman was in excess of approximately three times the legal limit .

The woman was later released with a future court date, charged with Impaired Driving and Exceed over 80mgs contrary to the Criminal Code.
