Social media contact threatens Chatham woman

A Chatham woman has been receiving threats on the telephone and via text messaging according to police.

A Mississauga man has been arrested by Peel Regional Police and turned over to the Chatham-Kent Police Service. A warrant was issued for his arrest in January 2012, however police did not locate the man until yesterday.

The 20-year-old Chatham woman reported the threats were from a man she knew through online social networking. A 25-year-old Mississauga man has been charged with uttering threats. He remains in custody in Chatham waiting for a bail hearing

    That’s what you get with Facebook. It’s nothing but creeps, viruses, and people who want to bore you to death with pictures of what they ate that day.
