Serious crash on Communication Road under investigation

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a crash that sent a Blenheim man to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries on Monday.

The accident happened just before 7:30 p.m. Monday at Communication Road and Drury Line involving an SUV and a motorcycle. According to police, a 38-year-old Chatham woman driving a silver Jeep Liberty was traveling on Communication Road when SUV collided with a motorcycle.

The the 46-year-0ld Blenheim man who was driving the motorcycle was pinned beneath the SUV, and had to be extricated by firefighters from station 18 Blenheim.

Communication Road at Drury Line was closed to traffic for several hours, and has since re-opened.

The man driving the motorcycle was taken to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with serious but non-life threatening injuries. None of the people in the Jeep were seriously injured, but were taken to hospital as a precaution.
