Habitat for Humanity Chatham-Kent held a ground breaking ceremony yesterday. The first Habitat home in Chatham-Kent is being built on Bristol Drive in the City of Chatham.
Neighbours, sponsors, the faith community, friends and family celebrated with Habitat as the shovels went into the ground, symbolizing the digging of the foundation of this new home.
Rev. Mark Perry offered a prayer of dedication for the home, family and community.
Kelly Tomkins and her girls are looking forward to purchasing the Habitat house and moving in towards the end of the summer. Kelly will join with Habitat volunteers, community members, friends and family to help build her home.
