Drinking alcohol lands man in jail

Police have arrested a Chatham man for failing to comply with his alcohol conditions.

On August 28, 2012, the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of the conditions was to abstain from consuming alcohol.

Just before 9 p.m. last night, officers received information that the man was drinking at a residence on Delaware Avenue in Chatham. Police attended and located the man in a detached garage with friends. After detecting a strong odour of an alcohol coming from the man’s breath and he was arrested.

The 37-year-old man has been charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
