Chatham man arrested after alleged domestic assault

C-K Police 611Police have charged a man following a domestic disturbance last month.

On August 31, 2012, the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions was to abstain from communicating with a Chatham woman.

On January 25, 2013, the man walked into the woman’s house on Foster Street uninvited. He then allegedly assaulted the woman by pushing her to the ground as she attempted to run to the door. After a few minutes he left the residence. On January 26, 2021 the man called the woman and threatened her. Police were notified and a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.

Yesterday at 11:30 a.m. police found him on Grand Avenue West in Chatham and he was arrested. The 57-year-old man has been charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling house, assault, uttering threats and two counts of breach of probation. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
