Sarnia Fire Chief charged with 28 counts of sexual assault

On Thursday around noon, 54-year-old Patrick Martin Cayen, the Fire Chief in Sarnia, was arrested by the Sarnia police and was held in custody overnight. He is facing a total of 28 charges of sexual assault.

He appeared in court this morning and was released with conditions. His next court date is December 18. A publication ban was put in place by the courts, prohibiting the time frame, the place where offences occurred and the identity of the victims from being made public in any form.

The police investigation is ongoing.
