Man in jail after two break-ins in Wallaceburg

The Chatham-Kent police have charged a man following an incident in Wallaceburg yesterday morning.

At about 8:30 a.m. police responded to the area of 450 Queen Street in Wallaceburg. It is alleged that the accused pushed open a bedroom window and began to climb in through the window. Witnesses observed the accused and recorded his description. The accused fled from the residence by jumping off the roof. He was later located by police at an apartment on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg where he was arrested without incident.

As a result, a 21-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with two counts of break and enter, theft, and possession of property obtained by a crime. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
