Police respond to 26 storm related calls overnight

The Chatham-Kent police were kept busy overnight with 26 storm related calls for service due to Hurricane Sandy. The dangerous condition calls were due to fallen power lines and trees resulting in power outages throughout various parts of the Municipality. No injuries have been reported. Police continue to assist hydro and public works crews with road closures and emergency situations as they are reported.

Police are also reminding drivers to be very cautious this morning as roads may be covered with fallen branches and/or downed hydro lines. Should you observe a public safety hazard, please call 911 immediately.

  • Kimball Road at McCreary Line – Wallaceburg area
  • McGeorge Street between Talbot Street East and John Street East - Blenheim
  • Glasgow Line between Catt Street and Connection Road – Tupperville area
  • Payne Road between Whitebread Line and Langstaff Line – Wallaceburg area
  • Bates Line at 3rd Ave - near Rondeau
  • Fairfield Line south of Zone Road 7 – Zone Township
  • Old Glass Road between Garnet Street and Mason Street – Wallaceburg
  • Talbot Street East at English Street – Blenheim
