The Chatham-Kent police have charged two men in connection with a home invasion early Sunday morning in Morpeth, Ontario.
At around 4:30 a.m. two males attended a residence in Morpeth and forced their way into a residence. One suspect brandished a firearm and the other, a knife. The 29-year-old male victim was assaulted but managed to flee the residence and call police. He suffered minor injuries. Later in the morning, members of the Critical Incident Response Team and Community Patrol attended a residence on Victoria Avenue in Ridgetown and arrested four people. Two of the four people were later released without charges.
Donald Carpenter, 35, of Richard Street in Ridgetown has been charged with breaking and entering, robbery with a firearm, point firearm, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was released with a future court date.
