Man facing multiple charges after stunt driving incident

A 22-year-old man was arrested on Thursday afternoon in Cedar Springs after getting caught driving over 100 kmh on Water Street.

Mitchell Snobelen of Charing Cross Road was clocked by the Chatham-Kent police as going 104 kmh on the side street around 12:30 p.m. According to police when an attempt was made to pull the man over, he fled, driving past a marked stop sign at Charing Cross Road. He then pulled into a driveway and attempted to flee on foot. Police made an immediate arrest.

The officer suspected Snobelen of drinking and driving. He was then taken to police headquarters where he was given a breath test.

Snobelen has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, fleeing from police, stunt driving and having a blood alcohol limit exceeding the legal limit.

He has been released pending a future court.
