Lying to police about identity lands teen in jail

Police are reporting that on Friday September 14, at about 4:30 a.m., a 17-year-old male was seen riding a bicycle on the property of an elementary school without any lighting on the bicycle and in the complete dark. As a safety measure the police approached the youth , who then provided a false name.

Once police realized the identity of the teen, he confirmed that he was bound by a curfew and was also had a warrant for his arrest for breach of probation.

The teen was arrested and has been charged with failing to comply with his curfew condition and for obstructing the police. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
