Drunk driver had been suspended from driving only hours before arrest

A 39-year-old Blenheim man was stopped earlier in the evening by the Chatham-Kent OPP and issued a three-day suspension for driving with elevated levels of alcohol, but did not get the message.

At 3:05 am Sunday morning the Chatham-Kent police stopped the same man driving his vehicle on Bisnett Line.

Police report they spoke to the man it was clear he had been drinking. He was arrested and charged impaired driving, over 80 mg and driving under suspension. Police also held the man in custody until he sobered up.

He will be able to explain his side in court on September 24.
