Jason Wintermute, Water Management Supervisor at the Lower Thames Conservation Authority, said on Thursday that local water levels are not low enough to call for a level two water condition.
On June 20 last month he issued a level one water condition advisory, which indicated three consecutive months where the precipitation level was less than 80%. The level one water advisory is also a way to signify that the Conservation Authority is requesting all users of water in the region to voluntarily cut their water use by 10%.
“Last months advisory is still in effect”, said Wintermute. “We had some significant rainfall earlier in July and that is why we have not moved to a level two water advisory.”
Last week the Upper Thames Conservation Authority released a level two water level advisory, however Wintermute said there is no need at this time for the LTCA to do the same.

When I see this weed/plant I shudder. Am I the only one who thinks it is a big problem (spreading sooo fast) in our waterways. I truly believe it is using up/drying up our waterways big and small. Don’t know the name of it but surely you know what I’m talking about!!
