Man recognizes thief in his home
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a break and enter in Wallaceburg Tuesday.
Shortly after 1:00 p.m. police attended a residence on Emma Street in regards to a break and enter. At this time, the victim reported that he left his residence around noon. Upon returning at 12:40 p.m., the victim observed that a rear window to his home was broken. As the victim entered his residence he observed a man inside his home stealing a Samsung tablet.
The victim recognized the man who immediately fled the residence with the tablet. The victim chased the man and was able to retrieve his tablet. Police located the man walking on Margaret Avenue around 1:15 p.m and he was arrested. Officers further learned that the man failed to attend court this date as he was required.
A 24-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with break and enter, possession of property under $5000 obtained by a crime and fail to attend court. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
