Be prepared for emergencies

Chatham-Kent, is again holding a display of emergency service responders at the Home Depot 8582 Pioneer Line, Chatham on Saturday May 12, 2012.  The display will start at 9:00 a.m. and finish at 1:00 p.m. Participants will include the Chatham-Kent Fire Department, Chatham-Kent Police Service, Chatham-Kent EMS, Chatham-Kent OPP, Chatham-Kent Health Unit and the Canadian Red Cross.

“During Emergency Preparedness week, we host an event to distribute information and encourage residents to be prepared in case of emergency”, said Alan DeVillaer, Coordinator of Emergency Medical Services/Emergency Management.  “We want to educate residents on how to be ready to cope on their own for at least the first 72 hours of an emergency.”

EP Week is a national event coordinated by Public Safety Canada in collaboration with provincial and territorial governments and other partners.
