Griffith stars as Knights sweep Rangers

Seth Griffith of Wallaceburg scored two goals, one into an empty net, and added an assist to seal a series sweep for the London Knights, who won 4-2 over the Kitchener Rangers in OHL action on Wednesday night.

The Knights, who have dominated the entire series in shots and puck possession, out shot the hometown Rangers 50-28.  The Rangers had already eliminated Plymouth in a seven game series and Owen Sound in five.

Griffith was named the 1st star of the game for the second time this series. Giffith now has 19 points to rank sixth in OHL playoff points. The elimination of the Rangers suspends the playoff production of the top three playoff scorers in the OHL, Tobias Rieder with 27 points, Michael Catenacci with 26, and Ryan Murphy with 22 points all had their season end with this loss. The Rangers Radek Faska, projected to be a 1st round pick in the NHL draft in June also saw his season come to an end.

The Knights move on to face the winner between the Niagara Ice Dogs and the Ottawa 67′s. The Ice Dogs lead that series 3 games to 1 and game 5 is in Niagara Falls on Friday night at 7 P.M.
