Man charged for break in on Park Ave.

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a break and enter in Chatham.

On February 21 shortly after 1:00 p.m., police attended a residence on Park Avenue East in regards to a break and enter.  The unknown suspect(s) entered the residence through a patio door and stole a gold chain valued at approximately $300 and an apartment key.

At about 3:45 p.m. yesterday, police located and arrested a man in connection with this break and enter.   A search of his person revealed that he was in possession of the stolen apartment key.  Police subsequently recovered the stolen gold chain from a pawn shop and it was returned to the victim.

A 25-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with one count of breaking and entering and two counts of being in possession of property obtained by a crime.  He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
