Arrests made in assaults

The Chatham-Kent police continue to investigate an assault in Chatham.

Shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, police attended the area of Eugenie Street in response to as assault.  Two 18-year-old Chatham men were assaulted by a group of male parties.  Both victims sustained facial injuries and non-life threatening stab wounds.  The male victims were transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical treatment.  Both were released from hospital.

Through investigation, officers identified two of the men involved.  Last evening, police located and arrested two Chatham men connected to these assaults.

A 23-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault with a weapon and having a weapon dangerous to the public peace.  He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

A 19-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.  He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
